Our Travel Approval came today!!!
Woohooo!!!
We get to go to China in September!!
Yay us!!!
Suitcase
Today, the boy’s first grade class was assigned a drawing project. They colored in this suitcase and then wrote a few words for the things they wanted to take on a trip.
Our boy included: shoes, toothbrush, pillow, teddy bear and pajamas.
Can you find all of those words? (They let the kids spell the words however think they should be spelled.)
How cute is this?
Hiking in Boulder
With all the excitement of Match Day past us, I want to share these pictures of the boy and I hiking in the hills just outside of Boulder. We had a blast and learned a bit about Colorado wildlife and history along the way. The trail we hikder along follows a creek down from the mountains into town. You can park on the edge of the city and take a shuttle about five miles up the road into a smaller town, then ride your mountain bike or hike down from there back into Boulder. ALong the way we saw lots of cool plants, people rock-climbing, and tons of cyclists and walkers. The day was perfect and sunny.

See if you can spot the reticulated chipmunk in one of those pics!

We found her!!!
Woohoo!!! After many months, we have a little girl!! We got the call today from our agency, CCAI. We’ve been matched to a little girl in Guangxi, China. She is about 15 months old and weighs 19 1/2 pounds.
We get more info later today including a picture and a bit more bio stuff, but still…
We found her!!!!!
Update from Kim:
Her name is Mei Jian Gong (not sure whether or not that’s spelled properly!). She was born May 27th, 2007, so she’s 15 month old . She’s 27 1/2″ tall. She has 3 teeth! And spiky hair – fits in with the family perfectly
They want us to travel within 4 weeks!!!!
Her orphanage is in Pingnan County in Guangxi province. Here are some pictures of the area.
