Bing Bang Boing
Awww, how come I never got one of these as a kid? I was 8 when it was released in 1972 so that would have been perfect!
Oh well… This would make an awesome idea for a DIY project now. I’m putting it on the list now.
Relay For Life time again
Can you believe that more than 1.3 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in the United States this year? That’s why I’ve decided to take action against cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society Relay For LifeĀ® event right here in my community.
Relay For Life is an overnight event that brings our community together to help support the American Cancer Society and its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. The Society helps people with cancer right here in our own community and all around the world. Our efforts can help the American Cancer Society to keep working toward a cancer-free future.
I invite you to show your support in the ongoing fight against cancer by joining me and my Kiwanis Club for this year’s event or making a donation. The 24-hour walk will be held on April 12th & 13th 2008 at San Marcos High School. Either way, you will make a real difference in the lives of people facing cancer and in the lives of the people who love them.
Or, if you prefer to send a donation via the mail (offline), click this link to download and then print a PDF form.
Thank you!
Excel as a 3-D Graphics Engine
IMO, this article can only be described as neat. The author explains how you could use MS Excel as a graphics engine. The same kind of software that’s invisibly running under all of our favorite games these days. That’s right – Excel. I’m not sure what inspired him, and apparently he’s not the first to think of this, but the examples and video’s are so much fun.
Check out the 2-D rotation, using tiny little cells on a spreadsheet to replicate pixels in a moving image. Amazing that it can recalculate the “drawing” so quickly!
If you’re a frequent Excel user/hacker like me, or even just a little bit curious about the possibilities here, you should check this out.
