Lego’s rule!

The boy and I have become major Lego fans in the last year or so, so this artcile was very interesting. It’s all about the making of Lego bricks.
I thought it was neat. Legoland near us here has a nice little “factory tour” they’ve setup with machines that are just like the real ones shown in the pictures here, if you ever get the chance to check it out.
e-waste management
This article really interests me, even though this is not a new topic:
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/20061125-9999-1n25ewaste.html
It tries to answer the question of where all the old computers and TV s go when we no longer want them.
And more good reading on this topic:
Pictures of the waste processing that goes on in China and Nigeria
A Seattle Times article from this year
Info on Dell’s recycling program. (note that they never say what they do with the e-waste.)
The boy’s vocabulary
The boy has some great words only he says:
casplode
casperiment
honormous
impornant
Example — “It’s impornant that you don’t do casperiments with fire or they might make a honormous casplosion!”
vigenegar
really tired – as in, “My grandpa Larry doesn’t go to work because he is really tired now.”
I’ll add others as I think of them. If you’ve heard him say any, add them to the comments here.
Coool!
Wikipedia has a page listing San Diego bands.
The boy’s birthday pix
A genius!
Sean says thank you!!!
Check out this video of Sean saying thank you for all of his wonderful birthday gifts. It’s about 6 MB so use a fast connection to get it, eh.
