Paperwork NEVER ends…

I’ve spent the last 3 weeks or so trying to gather the financial docs together for our Home Study, and get fingerprinted (twice). I applied for my Passport (the picture is horrible!). The woman taking my picture said “you sure don’t look like you’re happy to go to China”. I thought you weren’t supposed to smile in this photos, but apparently you can. Maybe next time. We finally got our health insurance coverage settled, so it’s off the the doctors for all of us for physicals. Even Sean needs a physical. Both CCAI and AO (our Home Study agency) need their own separate forms filled out. One of them needs the docs notarized and the other does not. Due to my ever-decreasing memory-issues(read – parent), I’ll bring my entire adoption binder with the 50 pages of instructions for each agency.
At the end of all this paperwork, I think I’ll have made the notary a very happy camper.
I think we might actually be close to finishing most of the documentation. I do hesitate to say that because we still need to notarize, certify, and authenicate everything.
All this paperwork is NOTHING compared to the fertility rounds every month, so any paperwork is a cakewalk, and I shouldn’t complain. I would hope that any government that gracious enough to let others adopt it’s children, would also make sure the kids are getting the best possible home with responsible parents.
That’s all for now. Terribly boring, but making progress.
